Danyelle completed her PhD and MSc at the University of Guelph studying the role of the immune system in driving obesity-related chronic diseases including diabetes, heart disease and breast cancer, in collaboration with industry and government partners. Collectively, Danyelle has gained broad research experience within the Life Sciences in leading clinical trials, projects involving cell culture and rodent models of disease, and a provincial-wide survey. Her work has contributed to over 25 peer-reviewed publications so far.
Beyond her research, Danyelle’s passion for science also extends to education and outreach. She has a Graduate Certificate in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, served as a Scientific Journalist and has instructed multiple courses in the Life Sciences at the University of Guelph. She also served as a Bariatric Educator at a medical clinic for three years where she gained in-depth experience in the intersect between research, industry and clinical practice, inspiring her to pursue a career at MEDUCOM.
When Danyelle isn’t immersed in research and writing, you can find her on the soccer field, exploring live music or buried in a good book!
